Needle & Syringe Program

NTAHC operates three primary needle and syringe sites in Darwin, Palmerston and Alice Springs.

The primary aim of the Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) is:
The provision of clean injecting equipment, information, education, support and appropriate referral to people who choose to inject drugs, to minimise the risk of transmission of HIV, Hep C & B and reduce other harms associated with injecting drug use.

All NSP staff are non-judgmental and provide

NSPs do not just provide needles and syringes.

The Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) provide sterile injecting equipment to any person (who chooses to inject) to prevent the spread of Blood Borne Viruses in the Community. NSP's also provide information and education about Blood Borne Viruses, including Hepatitis C and HIV.

Our service also provides referrals and advocates for clients' rights to health, welfare and support services in the Northern Territory and Australia.
