Sex Worker Outreach Program
Our Mission: 
To provide an accessible, ethical and effective outreach service to empower, support and advocate for improvement of NT sex workers lives by addressing holistic health issues that include human rights as working rights.
SWOP is funded as a health promotion project which aims to facilitate through peer education the maintenance of high sexual health and other OH&S practices of Northern Territory sex workers.
Key Actions:
- Liaise with other sex work organisations to keep up to date with comparable issues, gain peer support, information exchange and resource sharing. SWOP's national networks provide access to numerous resources as well as SWOP NT being able to also exchange resources developed facilitate resource education dissemination at a state & national level;
- Liaise with Darwin based agency workers and private workers to maintain professionalism, provide relevant training and feedback and develop resources;
- Liaise within NTAHC Darwin and Alice Springs projects - NTAHC projects provide access to numerous resources as well as SWOP NT being able to also exchange resources developed enabling education dissemination at a state and national level;
- Enable past and present sex workers to participate in SWOP education , training and meetings;
- Facilitate and engage sex workers to address stigma and discrimination by enabling holistic avenues for sex workers voices to be heard To lobby for legal and administrative frameworks which do not discriminate against sex workers;
- Conduct workshops to Nurses, doctors, clinical services, and broader communities through community stalls.
Art
Sex worker Art is increasing here at SWOP. We encourage art work and photography by sex workers expressing their feelings, around family, politics and how the laws effect us on a day to day level, or simply recycling sex worker clothes and shoes and turning that into art!
