Introduction to Aboriginal Sexual Health

These sessions can be targeted to Aboriginal people in residential or community settings to help raise awareness of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and Blood Borne Viruses (BBVs) and how to identify them, what are the risks and what current treatments are available and where to access information, support and sexual health testing and treatment options.

Education sessions can also be designed for service providers wanting to know more about Aboriginal Sexual Health issues. These sessions can be designed to include relevant information and resources required when working with Aboriginal clients such as:

  • Cultural protocols for working with Aboriginal people around sexual health.
  • Where to access Aboriginal specific sexual health resources.
  • What are the current STIs/BBVs impacting on Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory?
  • What services are available in the Northern Territory?

Locations: Alice Springs & Darwin. By arrangement in other regions – Katherine, Nhulunbuy and Tennant Creek. Training in other regions may incur additional travel costs.
