Overdose Awareness Day 2018
International Overdose Awareness Day is a global event held on 31 August each year and aims to raise awareness of overdose and reduce the stigma of a drug-related death. It also acknowledges the grief felt by families and friends remembering those who have died or had a permanent injury as a result of drug overdose.
International Overdose Awareness Day spreads the message that the tragedy of overdose death is preventable.
NTAHC will be hosting events in Darwin, Palmerston and Alice Springs from our NSPs.
Darwin will host a free BBQ under our shady courtyard, with Palmerston and Alice Spings hosting free lunch platters from the NSPs.
This year our Memorial Trees will be set up, where you can write the name of someone you have lost and place that persons name on the tree, to show our respects, to remember them and to pay tribute.
Darwin - 46 Wood St, Darwin City
Palmerston - Cnr Temple Terrace & Roystonea Ave, behind the Health Preceint
Alice Springs - Shop 3 Reg Harris Lane, Todd Mall
